Biscuits

Ok, I've been on the search for a great biscuit recipe and finally found one that I love. This is a Sunday breakfast staple at our house when I make Biscuits & Gravy. They are flaky, moist and they are goooood!

I found the Biscuit Recipe online at Paula Deen Network. Here it is:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 8 tablespoons butter, cubed

  • 3/4 cup milk

Combine all of the dry ingredients in a bowl. I then used a pastry blender to combine the VERY COLD butter. This will make it flaky and delicious. Add the milk and knead with your fingers until combined. Time to roll it out on a floured surface. When I rolled out the dough, I folded it over a few time so when they bake, the biscuits will have flaky layers of dough inside. Finally, I wolled out the dough about 1" thick. I cut the dough with a biscuit cutter and plaec them on a baking sheet. I got about 7 or 8 biscuits out of the recipe. Bake at 425 for about 12-15 minutes until it's golden brown. Enjoy!
